 Agaricus blazeii murrill extract Agaricus brazei mushroom (in short, ABM), a native fungi from Brazil, has been widely consumed in different areas of the world for its medicinal properties. It was first identified by Dr. Takatoshi Furumoto, who noticed that local inhabitants were statistically healthier. Further study by other researchers such as Dr. Shobo Shibata and Dr. Tetsuo Ikegawa revealed the modes of action for this amazing mushroom. Research on ABM over the last 30 years has demonstrated it can stimulate the immune system and promote natural immune system response to infectious disease and certain cancers. ABM stimulates T-cell production. The polysaccharides contained in ABM also stimulate the production of interferon and interleukin that indirectly function to destroy and prevent the proliferation of cancer cells.  Cordyceps sinensis extract Cordyceps sinensis is one of the most prized herbs from Traditional Chinese Medicine and has maintained it's medicinal popularity in China and Japan for over three thousand years. Cordyceps has been traditionally used to promote vitality, general well-being, libido, and many other health benefits. But latest researches indicate that its polysaccharide has the ability to strengthen and invigorate many immune functions.  Coriolus versicolor extract Coriolus versicolor, better known as the "turkey tail" mushroom, has historically been used as a health food in China and Japan. Many experimental studies and clinical investigations of PSK and PSP in Coriolus have supported their effect in immunotherapy.  Maitake extract Maitake extract, or Grifola frondosa, contains all the essential amino acids and most of the commonly occurring non-essential amino acids and amides, such as large unsaturated fatty acids rich in vitamins and minerals. Native to parts of Japan and the United States, maitake is rich in certain vitamins and minerals. Our maitake extract also contains D-fraction--a unique protein-bound polysaccharide compound based on 1,3 and 1,6 beta glucans; and high molecular weight sugar polymers. Numerous studies show that Maitake extracts can enhance immune functions and help reduce abnormal cell growth by increasing macrophages, T-cell activity and interleukin-1 production. Maitake extract may enhance the benefits of chemotherapy and lessen some side effects of chemotherapy. Maitake extract is used in Japan as a complement for select cancer therapy and treatment.  Reishi extract Reishi, known as lingzhi in China, has been used in a pharmacological state since the Han dynasty. Our reishi extract is extracted to a highly potent, enhanced form of reishi. Reishi extract is somewhat bitter in taste. Reishi extract contains numerous bioactive compounds, including polysaccharides, triterpenes, and immunomodulatory proteins. Many of these compounds have anti-tumor properties that appear to be based on enhancement of the host immune system rather than on a direct cytocidal effect. That is, unlike chemicals used in chemotherapy, it has few toxic side effects because its effect is based on the immunological enhancement of the host. Initial laboratory studies have indicated that reishi extract is effective against isolated compounds of some types of cancer, including ovarian cancer. Reishi accomplishes this through its anti-angiogenesis properties.
